The short version

HandheldPicksis a small editorial site about handheld gaming hardware. We don't sell anything ourselves; we earn a small commission on qualifying purchases when you click through to Amazon. This page explains what data we collect, why, and how to control it.

What we collect

  • Standard server logs. Like every web server, our hosting provider records the IP addresses and user-agent strings of visitors for security and abuse prevention. These logs are kept for up to 30 days.
  • Privacy-respecting analytics. We use aggregate page-view counts to understand what content is useful. We do not track you across other sites, and we do not build user profiles.
  • No account, no comments. HandheldPicksdoesn't require sign-ups. There's no login, no comments, no profile data to leak.

Cookies

We don't set advertising cookies. The only cookie we may set is a small preference cookie to remember your dark/light theme — and even that is optional.

When you click an Amazon affiliate link, Amazon may set its own cookies on your browser. That's how affiliate tracking works. Amazon's cookie practices are governed by Amazon's privacy notice.

Affiliate disclosure

HandheldPicks is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com.

When you click through one of our Amazon links and make a qualifying purchase, Amazon pays us a small percentage of the sale at no extra cost to you. This is how the site is funded and stays free of display ads.

Affiliate relationships do notinfluence our reviews or verdicts. We turn down affiliate programs for products we don't recommend, and we publish “skip” verdicts on products that are paying us.

Third-party content

Our reviews aggregate signals from public sources — Reddit threads, YouTube reviews, Amazon ratings — and synthesize them with AI assistance. Source channels are cited in each review. Product photography is sourced from manufacturer press kits, Wikimedia Commons (CC BY-SA 4.0, attributed inline), and licensed image search.

Your rights

Because we don't store personal data tied to identifiable users, there's essentially nothing to delete. If you have a specific request — a takedown, attribution correction, or factual challenge — email us at editor@handheldpicks.com.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change this policy, we'll bump the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the current version.
